De klepdop (vaak klepsteelkap genoemd) is een kleine cilindervormige metalen kap van zeer hard staal die rechtstreeks op het bovenste uiteinde van de klepsteel wordt geplaatst. Op de tweecilinder dieselmotor van Kubota die wordt gebruikt in de Aixam- en Minauto-reeksen, dient dit onderdeel als bufferzone: het is het contactoppervlak waarop de tuimelaar duizenden keren per minuut slaat om de klep naar beneden te drukken en de verbrandingskamer te openen.
